WL72917_8M is a low-cost and ultra-low-power consumption and multi-protocol wireless sub-system module which has the single band (2.4 GHz) Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE 5.4 functionalities.
The WL72917_8M module supports standards and industrial alliance specifications including WiFi-6 2.4G, Bluetooth low energy (LE), 2.4 GHz proprietary, and Wi-Fi Coexistence Interface, all the networking and wireless stacks.
The wireless supports Embedded Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n/ax) Client mode, Wi-Fi SoftAP and STA concurrent mode (up to 16 clients), and Enterprise Security. The BLE mode works in standard-compliant 1 Mbps BLE mode, 2 Mbps enhancement BLE mode, 125 Kbps BLE long range mode (S8), 500kbps BLE long range mode (S2).
WL72917_8M module integrates a powerful microcontroller ARM Cortex-M4F core with up to 180MHz, 225 DMIPS performance, Embedded SRAM up to 672 kB total for On-chip SRAM of 192K / 256K / 320Kbytes for M4F based on the memory configuration, and support for Optional Ext. PSRAM up to 16MB, and Flash up to 8 MB (embedded), up to 16 MB (External Flash).
The WL72917_8M also includes multi-stage power management subsystem design allowing ultra-low power operation including DC-DC converters and linear regulators.
